Campari and stock sign Granini deal
Milan, February 2001 - Samo S.p.A., a company of the Campari group, has acquired from Stock the Italian distribution rights for Granini, Europe's leading fruit juice brand.
Milan, 28 February 2001 - Stock and Campari, two
historical companies of the Italian drinks sector, have completed
negotiations for an important agreement signed today by Bruno
Savino, vice president of the Trieste-based company and Jörn
Böttger, Chief Operating Officer Italy of the Campari group.
With effect from March Samo S.p.A., a company of the Campari group,
will take over the Italian distribution of Granini brand fruit
juices, manufactured by the German company Eckes, and introduced to
the Italian market by Stock.
Samo, with sales in 2000 of 37.9 billion lire, manages mineral
water brands Crodo Lisiel, Valle d'Oro and Crodo soft drinks and
was considered the most suitable partner for the development of the
Granini line of products.
Granini is Europe's leading fruit juice brand. It was created in 1964 and acquired in 1994 by the German company Eckes. With production of 500 million litres a year (equal in size to the whole fruit juice sector in Italy), its sales total 1000 billion lire, half of which come from outside Germany. Distributed in 68 countries throughout the world, Granini fruit juice products are available in a wide range of flavours and are known for their high quality throughout international markets.
