Enrico Serafino winery owns vineyards in the hilly Roero area with vines over 30 years old. Neighbouring vineyards owned by a few selected growers, especially in the Langhe, also contribute to the winerys grape supply. The winery covers about 6000 square meters and is equipped with the most modern technologies and Enrico Serafinos wine offer is complete and tailored for every occasion. Innovative spirit comes alive in the form of Enrico Serfino's Cantina Maestra (Master Winery), which draws its name from both a historical and metaphorical source. In 1260 the city of Asti founded Canale; the city plan envisioned a central road named Via Maestra that was the core of the village, in the same way that Cantina Maestra is the heart of Enrico Serafino. The Italian word "Maestra", which is translated "Master", connotes quality and excellence.
Enrico Serafino stands for the best winemaking tradition of the Piedmont region together with the importance of valorizing the autochthonous grapes used in the production of prestigious Piedmont wines. The quality of Cantina Maestra is embodied in five new labels, by Enrico Serfino: Parduné Barbera d'Alba D.O.C. Superiore, Pasiunà Roero D.O.C.G., Bacajé Barbera d'Alba D.O.C., Diauleri Nebbiolo dAlba D.O.C., and Canteiò Roero Arneis D.O.C.G. The wine range also includes: Barolo an authentic treasure coming from Nebbiolo grapes of the best vines and with a minimum aging period of three years. Barbaresco, with a rich and important taste, Roero Superiore, rare version of the most important red wine of the area, and Barbera dAlba. Among the white wines, the more interesting are Arneis, Gavi and Chardonnay. The range is completed by top sparkling wines such as Talento Millesimato Metodo Classico, Alta Langa Metodo Classico, and Brachetto dAcqui.
The Enrico Serafino winery began its activity in
1878 in Canale dAlba, in the heart of Roero. At
the end of the 18th century it was one of the first
cellars to export wine to foreign countries, even
outside Europe. At the end of the 80s the cellar was
acquired by Barbero 1891 that restored and modernized
the whole structure, improving production. Since 2004 Enrico
Serafino is part of Gruppo Campari.
The year 2008 marks a new
milestone for Enrico Serafino, with the
inauguration of Cantina
Maestra.
Enrico Serafino's main market is Italy and it enjoys success internationally, especially in Germany.
