Château Lamargue is one of the most famous and
prestigious wineries in the south of France, situated on a
terrain of roughly 120 hectares. Château
Lamargue produces a range of
ten wines divided in two
different typologies of product: A.O.C.
Costières de Nîmes and Vins de
Pays d'Oc.
The wines are characterised by the
unique and incomparable flavour
that the land, the location and the exposure to the sun of the
Mediterranean give them. The Vins de Pays dOc are
perfect in every occasion, from
the most informal to those more refined. Whilst the A.O.C.
Costières de Nîmes offer an extra touch of class,
revealing themselves as the ideal wines for special
occasions and important events.
The A.O.C. Costières de Nîmes range is made up
of three fruity full-bodied wines and two intense, long aged and
highly concentrated cuvées.
Château Lamargue Blanc A.O.C. made from selected fully
mature Roussane, Rolle and Grenache Blanc grapes.Château
Lamargue Rosé A.O.C. is a blend of Grenache Noir and
Syrah, coming from low yield vines and harvested when the grapes
are fully matured.Château Lamargue Rouge A.O.C. this
red is characterized by a beautiful balance and a very long finish;
it is a blend of three varietals: Syrah, Grenache Noir and
Mourvèdre. Cuvée Aegidiane is a red wine made from
a blend of selected Syrah and Grenache Noir, and it is aged for one
year in durmast barrels. Cuvée Grande Réserve
is a red wine produced from a blend of a special selection of Syrah
and Grenache Noir. A meditation of 15 months in durmast
barrels makes its flavour unique. Produced in limited quantities,
it is dedicated to the most discerning consumers.
The Vins de Pays d'Oc range includes five wines that
fully reveal the personality of the grapes from which they are
created: Domaine Lamargue Chardonnay, Domaine Lamargue
Viognier, Domaine Lamargue Cabernet-Sauvignon,
Domaine Lamargue Syrah and Domaine Lamargue
Merlot.
Château Lamargue is situated in a magic and fascinating area, between ancient green forests and the coast of Nîmes. The area is known for its beauty and history, already preserved in the far XII century by the monks of the nearby abbey, and later with renewed passion by the noble family of Louis de Senilhac in 1764. Eventually acquired by an Italian family it is owned today by Gruppo Campari. Recently, Château Lamargue was completely restructured with a modern cellar, allowing a series of technological improvements of the vineyards, and so, a higher quality of production.
France is the main market, important foreign markets include Scandinavia, Germany and U.S.
